At The Keynote Curators, we recommend a 6-12 month lead time if your planning allows. Keynote speaker calendars fill up quickly – especially those big household names. The saying 'the early bird gets the worm' usually applies when booking keynote speakers, especially if they're celebrities or other well-known people.
